E.C. Masters

This is the part where we talk about who Elizabeth is and what she’s all about. I am Elizabeth’s sister. I’d like to think I know her better than anyone else. Growing up side by side, I’ve seen Elizabeth's career develop, from her kindergarten construction paper doodles, to her most recent portfolio, which radiates color, detail, and invention. She truly, literally, always gives her all to every project. She gives her clients what they ask for and more. It’s just her personality to do her very best with what she loves to do most. I know because I have seen her in her studio early in the morning, in the afternoon, late at night, eyes popping, paint smeared on brow and cheek, bent over a canvas or a computer image that wasn’t due for another week. Creating good art is Elizabeth's life, and she lets almost nothing distract her from that goal, which she has achieved many times over. Along with her obsession with perfection, Elizabeth constantly pushes her imagination to new limits. She is never satisfied with the ordinary or the expected. For Elizabeth, true creativity is never stopping at what she has already seen, felt, or experienced, but depicting what could have been, maybe should have been, and what she hopes will be. ~ Madeline Churchill Masters (freelance writer and editor, Buffalo NY)

Ellis, Tim

Tim Ellis has always loved illustration and decided at 14 that he wanted to become an Illustrator - cutting out illustrations he liked out of the back of his mum's Radio Times magazine. He thinks a determination for drawing recognition surfaced from the trauma he suffered, aged 10, at being disqualified from his primary school art competition for allegedly tracing a Tintin and Snowy picture, which he had skilfully drew freehand. Tim's concept-driven illustrations attract a broad range of clients across editorial, design and advertising, and he enjoys both working on open-idea briefs and specific briefs. Clients include: Talk Talk, Nokia, BT, NTL, Honda, The Guardian, LloydsTSB Bank, Microsoft, The Samaritans, Reiker Shoes, Brodies, RATP Metro, The Independent and The Times. Tim is also a sessional lecturer at the University College for the Creative Arts at Epsom, on the Graphic Design lecturer

Ember, Kathi

Kathi Ember lives with one man, three sheep and four cats in an old stone farm house just outside of Kutztown, PA. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil and knew from an early age that art was her passion. After graduating with a BFA from Kutztown University in '76, she eventually figured out that she was meant to be an illustrator. Her love of animals, sense of humor, whimsy, and a penchant for storytelling all came together and in one quick moment she realized, "THIS IS IT...this is what I'm supposed to be doing". And so, she sits at her desk every day, living in a fantasy world and watching little anthropomorphic animals come to is good.

Engelworld Illustration

Natascha Engelmann is a freelance illustrator since '96. Today she's living and working in Berlin and New York City. Her figures elegantly and glamourosly concrete, as subtly at the same time- are characterized by natural grace and childlike naivety. Her digital sketches are like surreal snapshots of a nevertheless clearly outlined everyday world. Natascha's pictures, which it formulates with traditional and technical computer sign methods for an unmistakable handwriting, remind of Japanese woodcuts and Art Nouveau.
