With a serious drawing addiction and an impractical fine arts degree, Cathy Gendron began her illustration career in 1980.
After surviving years as a newspaper art director, she now enjoys a successful freelance career while teaching at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. Cathy gets her art kicks mostly from editorial and publishing assignments but is happy to mix in occasional advertising or corporate projects. Working traditionally in acrylics and oils, she now scans and delivers most of her paintings digitally. Her color-intense work has won awards from, among others, Print, Communication Arts and the Society of Publication Designers.
Living and working in culturally enriched but football-obsessed Ann Arbor, Michigan, she is preparing for empty-nesting.
