Artists need to update their resumes frequently, and often you will need several versions of a resume – a curriculum vitae that can be many pages and a short artist resume for galleries. Using the [vita] shortcode included with BaseLayer, you can add to a resume as you make posts about your work. For example, if you have a show opening, simply add a new post about it and categorize it as you would want it to appear on your resume.

The video tutorial shows how a new Juried Exhibition post is added to the vita and sorted by year. If you had 10 posts, only one date shows up and the ten posts are organized appropriately. Below is an example of how the code needs to be entered in the HTML editor of a page or post. In bold is the shortcode that will pull posts from the specified category and add the post into your resume.

You only need to set this up once, after that you never have to edit your resume again! Just make a new post every time you want to add a line to your resume and it will flow into place.
