Steven's illustrations have been recognized for excellence by PRINT magazine, Society of Illustrators, The Art Directors Club, and Communications Arts magazine.
Since 2000 Steven has also illustrated 25 picture books for children, 5 as both author & illustrator. In 2012 his beautifully illustrated picture book, "Brothers at Bat" (written by Audrey Vernick/Clarion Books) was named a New York Times Book Review Notable Picture Book.

-the picture book, "Wild Child!" -written & illustrated by Steven Salerno (Abrams Books for Young Readers) All the jungle animals try their best to tame the wildest animal of them all. (Abrams Books for Young Readers)
-also the picture book, "The Fantastic Ferris Wheel" -written by Betsy Harvey Kraft (Christy Ottaviano Books) With incredible period illustrations by Steven. It's the story of George Ferris and his amazing invention the Ferris Wheel built for the 1893 Chicago World's Fair.

-the picture book, "The Kid from Diamond Street" -written by Audrey Vernick & illustrated by Steven Salerno (Clarion Books) The true story of Philadelphia girl Edith Houghton who became a professional baseball player in 1922 at age ten! -featuring striking illustrations by Steven.
-also the picture book, "Puppy Princess" -written by Sue Fliess & illustrated by Steven Salerno (Little Golden Books - Penguin/Random House) A pampered pup lives a life of luxury.
To be released in 2017:
"Goldenlocks and the Three Pirates" -written by April Jones Prince & illustrated by Steven Salerno (Farrar Straus & Giroux) A pirate-themed spin on the Goldilocks classic.
Steven's clients have included AT&T, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal, McDonalds, American Express, Royal Bank of Canada, IBM, and United Airlines to name a few.
